Why we sometimes say “not yet”

Aesthetic medicine has a quiet temptation built into it. A patient asks for something, the product is on the shelf, and the appointment is already booked. Saying yes is easy. But a treatment that isn’t right for your face — at this moment, in this proportion — doesn’t become right just because it was requested.

Restraint is a skill

Knowing where to place a syringe is technique. Knowing when to put it down is judgement, and it takes far longer to develop. A millilitre too much, a line softened that gave your face its character — these are not dramatic mistakes, but they accumulate into a face that looks “done” rather than rested.

The goal is never more. The goal is right.

So when we say “not yet,” it usually means one of three things: your skin needs time to settle from a previous treatment; the result you want is better achieved a different way; or the change you’re chasing is one that, honestly, no one but you would notice. Each of those is a reason to wait — and waiting is a treatment decision too.
