How long does forehead Botox last?

Botox on forehead lines is temporary — for most people it lasts about three to four months. It doesn't appear overnight either: movement starts to soften around two days in and reaches full effect somewhere between one week and one month. After that, the muscle gradually regains motion.

When it kicks in, and when it fades

Botox doesn't work instantly. You'll usually notice the first change around two days after treatment, and the full effect settles in between one week and one month. So if the frown line is still there on day three, that's normal.

The effect isn't permanent. For most people it holds for three to four months, after which the muscle slowly returns to its old movement and the lines come back. [1]

Why it lasts longer for some people

Two things matter most: the dose used and your own body. Higher doses tend to last a little longer, and everyone metabolises the toxin at a slightly different rate — which is why longevity varies from person to person.

That's also why comparing 'it lasted X months for my friend' isn't very useful. A good plan is built around your muscles and your goal, not someone else's result. [1][2]

Does it last longer if you repeat it?

To a degree, yes. With regular treatment over time the muscle weakens slightly, and that can stretch the gap between sessions a little. It's a gradual effect, not a sudden change. [3]

Frequently asked questions

How soon does forehead Botox start working?

Usually around two days after treatment, with the full effect showing between one week and one month.

How often do I need to repeat it?

Because the effect lasts three to four months, most people repeat treatment within that window to keep the result even.

Why does mine wear off faster than someone else's?

It comes down to the dose and how quickly your body metabolises the toxin — both differ between people.
